Analysis review

This week, the price of raw material billets remained weak and stable. As of January 3rd, the factory price of 20 # hot-rolled billets was 3,540-3,800 RMB/ton, and the factory price of 20 # continuous casting billets was 3,410-3,650 RMB/ton.

Market outlook

Since the beginning of this week, the market has continued to weaken, with mainstream tube factories in Shandong continuously reducing their shipments, and downstream market merchants also showing weak shipments, leading to an overall cautious attitude. In the context of the continuous decline in upstream tube billet prices, manufacturers have shown some weakness in raising prices. However, the profit of the tube factory was near the breakeven line, and the pressure on the factory warehouse has decreased. Although downstream demand was weak, it still has resilience.
