The grain trade data from the League Committee shows that grain imports for 2024/25 are lower than the same period last year, as imports of durum wheat and barley are both lower than last year. As of February 2, the grain import volume of the 27 EU countries for the fiscal year 2024/25 (starting from July 1) was 19,011,530 tons, a decrease of 9% compared to the same period last year and a decrease of 9% year-on-year last week.
The import volume of wheat was 5,087,038 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 12%, and a year-on-year decrease of 13% last week.
The import volume of Durham wheat was 1,008,483 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 43%, and a year-on-year decrease of 43% last week.
The import volume of barley was 769,938 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 45%, and a year-on-year decrease of 43% last week.
The import volume of corn was 11,922,814 tons, a year-on-year increase of 5%, and a year-on-year increase of 4% last week.
