The market price of ECH continued to rise this week. According to the monitoring and analysis system of SunSirs, as of February 14th, the benchmark price of SunSirs' ECH was 9,150 RMB/ton, an increase of 1.67% compared to the beginning of this month.

Price influencing factors:

On the raw material side, the prices of propylene and glycerol have fluctuated, and the support of high costs was still evident. Among them, the cost of glycerol based ECH enterprises has significantly increased, leading to a loss in industry profits. According to the market analysis system of SunSirs, as of February 13th, the benchmark price of propylene in SunSirs was 6,878.25 RMB/ton, an increase of 0.81% compared to the beginning of this month (6,823.25 RMB/ton).

Supply side: The ECH market was experiencing tight supply. The manufacturer's prices remained firm at high levels, and there was a noticeable atmosphere of reluctance to sell at low prices.

Downstream demand side: The downstream epoxy resin market had a cold demand for ECH, mainly consuming inventory, insufficient follow-up of new orders, and replenishment for urgent need.

Market outlook

An analyst from SunSirs believes that the high prices of raw materials supported, downstream replenishment as needed, with a focus on inventory consumption and insufficient follow-up on new orders. It is expected that there may be a slight increase in the market price of ECH in the near future, and more attention still needs to be paid to changes in market supply and demand.
