On February 17th, the commodity price index BPI was 904 points, unchanged from yesterday, down 32.69% from the highest point of 1,343 points during the cycle (2021-10-19), and up 36.97% from the lowest point of 660 points on February 3rd, 2016.
According to the price monitoring of RMB, on February 17, 2025, there were a total of 39 commodities that showed a year-on-year increase in commodity prices, mainly concentrated in the chemical sector (25 in total) and the agricultural and sideline sector (4 in total). The top three commodities with the highest increase were urea (4.80%), soybean meal (3.23%), and sulfur (3.15%). There were a total of 62 products that experienced a month on month decline, mainly in the chemical industry (23 products) and steel (12 products). The top three products with the highest decline were dichloromethane (-3.21%), eggs (-2.33%), and acrylonitrile (-2.25%).
