Price trend

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs , the price of bromine has remained stable this week. The average market price from the beginning of the week to the end of the week was 21,800 RMB/ton, a decrease of 2.68% compared to the same period last year.

On February 27th, the SunSirs  Bromine Index was 76.49 points, unchanged from the previous day, a decrease of 68.80% from the highest point of 245.18 points (2021-10-27) during the cycle, and an increase of 29.82% from the lowest point of 58.92 points on October 29th, 2014. (Note: The cycle refers to the period from September 1, 2011 to the present)

Analysis review

This week, the price of bromine was running steadily, and in the Shandong region, the price of bromine was running steadily. The mainstream market price was around 21,500-22,000 RMB/ton, and bromine manufacturers were gradually resuming production. But downstream demand was weak. In terms of raw materials, domestic sulfur prices have remained strong, with an average market price of 1,944.33 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week and 2,104.33 RMB/ton at the end of the week. The price has increased by 6.05%, which was 106.31% higher than the same period last year. Downstream demand was still acceptable.

Market outlook

The price of bromine has been temporarily stable in the recent times, with upstream sulfur prices rising. Bromine production was gradually starting, but downstream demand was still mainly based on on-demand procurement. Based on the comprehensive forecast of supply and demand, it is expected that bromine may continue to consolidate and operate in the later stage, depending on downstream market demand.
