ANEC stated that the estimated export volume of Brazilian corn in March 2025 is 413,401 tons, slightly higher than the estimated 412,700 tons a week ago. The export volume in March was still lower than the 1.29 million tons in February, but significantly higher than the 140,561 tons in March last year.
As a reference, Brazil's corn exports in February were 78% higher than the same period last year.
The export volume in January was 3.14 million tons, a decrease of 10% from 3.51 million tons in the same period last year.
ANEC's estimated data is based on the port's vessel schedule. Actual exports may be affected by factors such as weather.
Despite the strong growth in domestic consumption caused by the expansion of ethanol factories in Brazil, ANEC predicts that the annual corn export volume will reach 42 million tons in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 11%.
In 2024, Brazil's corn exports amounted to 37.81 million tons, a 32% decrease from the record breaking 55.56 million tons in 2023.
