Analysis review

Last week, the market price of tube billets remained stable but slightly stronger. As of April 11th, the ex factory price of 20 # hot-rolled tube billets was 3,360-3,400 RMB/ton. The partial increase was mainly due to cost push and supply contraction. The tight supply caused by steel mill maintenance continued to support the price.

In terms of supply, the national seamless tube production was 357,100 tons, an increase of 1.97% year-on-year; The inventory in the factory was 607,400 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.67%. Some tube factories had plans to resume production in April, and it is expected that supply will continue to increase. last week's statistics showed that the inventory in the seamless tube factory was 614,500 tons, a decrease of 8,600 tons from last week.

In terms of demand, April is the peak season for "Silver April" construction, with warming temperatures in the north, increased construction rates, accelerated progress of infrastructure projects, and expected month on month growth in demand for seamless tubes. The incremental demand in oil and gas tubeline network, power and thermal engineering and other fields still existed, especially the "the Belt and Road" national energy projects played a significant role in promoting China's seamless tube exports.

Market outlook

The fundamentals of seamless tubes had a certain degree of resistance to decline, but of course, attention should also be paid to the poor expectations of end demand and the risk of inventory accumulation, which exerted a certain pressure on the price of seamless tubes.
