According to the monitoring of SunSirs, domestic sodium metabisulfite prices continued to decline again at the bottom this week. The average price of industrial-grade sodium metabisulfite at the beginning of the week was 1,576.67 RMB/ton, and the average price at the weekend was 1,526.67 RMB/ton, which fell 3.17% during the week.

Analysis review   

Sodium metabisulfite market trading was still light this week. The market price range of industrial grade sodium metabisulfite was 1,300-1,600 RMB/ton, with most prices concentrated at 1,400-1,500 RMB/ton. Upstream raw material prices continued to be low, downstream demand continued to weaken, domestic sodium metabisulfite stocks continued to accumulate, and under strong pressure from strong supply and demand, some companies lowered their ex-factory prices again in June, and the domestic sodium metabisulfite market prices continued to decline.

This week, domestic soda ash prices fell by 1.3%, sulfur prices rose by 5.7%, the overall cost of sodium metabisulfite raw materials continued to be low, and the price of sodium metabisulfite rebounded under pressure.

Market outlook

SunSirs analysts believe that the current supply is strong and demand is weak, and the market price of sodium metabisulfite will continue to be weak in the short term.
