Market Analysis

Glass prices were basically stable last week. Shahe in North China, the market price was stable; the overall inventory of manufacturers was low. The overall trend of the East China market was stable, and the quotations of individual manufacturers were slightly reduced by about 0.2-0.4 RMB/ m2. The trend in South China is weak and the market transaction was not good. The price of spot glass products in Central China was slightly adjusted, down by about 0.3 RMB/. The glass price of some manufacturers in southwest and Northwest China increased slightly by about 0.2 RMB/ m2. Local processing enterprises in Northeast China mainly order, in order to strengthen the shipment, the price of glass spot products has been reduced by about 0.2-0.5 RMB/ m2.

In terms of production capacity, according to the data of the industry association, on September 18, 2020, the industrial inventory was 39.03 million heavy boxes, an increase of 560,000 heavy boxes compared with last week, and an increase of 1.83 million heavy boxes compared with last year. The weekend inventory days were 14.95 days, 0.17 days higher than last week, and 0.47 days higher than last week. On September 18, 2020, the glass production capacity utilization rate was 69.28%; the glass production capacity utilization rate increased by 0.07% compared with last week and -1.02% compared with last year; after excluding excess capacity, the glass capacity utilization rate was 82.09%, up 0.05% month on month, and -1.59% year-on-year. According to the data released by the National Bureau of statistics, the output of flat glass in August was 81.38 million heavy boxes, an increase of 3.1% year-on-year; the cumulative production of flat glass from January to August was 623.09 million heavy boxes, an increase of 1.0% year-on-year.
