SunSirs: Sodium Metabisulfite Prices Were Slightly Lowered This Week (November 30-December 4)
December 07 2020 13:43:34SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the monitoring of SunSirs, domestic sodium metabisulfite prices continued to adjust weakly this week. The weekly average price of industrial-grade sodium metabisulfite was 1,750.00 RMB/ton, and the weekend average price was 1,700.00 RMB/ton, which was reduced by 2.86% during the week.

Analysis review

The overall performance of the sodium metabisulfite market this week was average. Affected by the continued decline in raw material costs, some companies have gradually lowered the ex-factory prices of sodium metabisulfite in December. The market price of industrial-grade sodium metabisulfite was in the range of 1,550-1,700 RMB/ton, and most prices were concentrated in 1,600 -,1700 RMB/ton. The production of the enterprise was stable, and the inventory was maintained at about 30%. The enterprise mainly completed the orders of old customers, and the increase of new orders was limited.

This week, the domestic soda ash price dropped again by 5.33%, and the sulfur price rose by 3.48%. On the whole, the upstream raw material cost price continued to show a downward trend, and the raw material cost fell again, and the domestic sodium metabisulfite market price adjusted weakly accordingly.

Market outlook

SunSirs’ analysts believe that the prices of upstream raw materials have continued to fall, and the wait-and-see attitude of downstream trading entities has increased, and the overall sodium metabisulfite market price has been under pressure to decline. It is expected that there will still be some room for decline in the market outlook.
