SunSirs: China Glass Prices are rising steadily Last Week (November 27- December 4)

According to the monitoring of SunSirs, the glass price increased in the last week, with an average price of 24.38 RMB/ m2 at the weekend, and the price rose slightly during the week, with a range of 0.54%.

The glass rose steadily in the last week. For Shahe in North China, the overall trend is stable, and the glass prices of some enterprises have slightly adjusted, with an average price of 23.8 RMB/ m2. Overall, the inventory of production enterprises is still at a low level. The terminal market demand in East China is fair, and the prices of some enterprises have risen slightly, with an increase of 0.2-0.3 RMB/ m2. In South China, manufacturers' prices were mainly adjusted slightly, with an increase of about 0.2 RMB/ m2, and the market sentiment changed little. The overall trend of glass spot market in Central China is good, and the prices of manufacturers have increased about 0.5 RMB/ m2. The overall trend of the spot glass market in Southwest China is general, and the prices of manufacturers are mainly adjusted slightly, with an increase of about 0.2 RMB/ m2. Enterprises in Northeast China mainly focus on reducing inventory, and the downstream rush orders are gradually weakened, and the enterprise quotation is basically unchanged. The overall trend of glass spot market in Northwest China is general, and the prices of some manufacturers have increased about 0.3 RMB/ m2.

In terms of production capacity, 550 tons of Jinjing technology second line in Zibo, Shandong Province, this week completed cold repair and resumed production with ignition. There are ignition plans for some production lines in Hubei next week. In the later stage, some production lines in Guangdong also have plans for ignition and shutdown, but the overall capacity changes little.

According to the data of the industry association, on December 4, 2020, the utilization rate of glass production capacity was 70.00%, up 0.24% month on month and 0.65% on last year; after excluding excess production capacity, the glass capacity utilization rate was 83.06%, up 0.28% month on month and 0.65% year on year. The glass production capacity was 967.92 million heavy containers, an increase of 3.3 million heavy containers compared with last week, and an increase of 34.62 million heavy containers compared with last year. On December 4, 2020, the industry's inventory of 27.63 million heavy containers increased by -700,000 heavy containers compared with last week and -10.41 million heavy containers compared with last year. The number of weekend inventory days was 10.45 days, increased by -0.26 days compared with last week, and increased -4.42 days on a year-on-year basis.

According to SunSirs, glass prices will rise steadily this week. The orders of downstream processing enterprises are better, and the orders for rush work in the North continue, and the export orders in the South maintain a good situation. The price of petroleum coke and LNG increased. In the short term, China glass market is still stable operation, supplemented by a small rise.
