The average price of 2-EH's mainstream ex-factory quotations in Shandong this week dropped from 11,766.67 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week to 10,966.67 RMB/ton at the weekend, a decrease of 6.8%, a year-on-year increase of 58.94%. On the whole, the 2-EH market fell this week, and the 2-EH commodity index on January 8 was 80.64.

Analysis review

Judging from the manufacturers' quotations, the quotations from mainstream manufacturers of 2-EH in Shandong fell this week: Jianlan Chemical’s 2-EH quotation this weekend was 11,000 RMB/ton, compared with the beginning of the week, the quotation dropped by 800 RMB/ton; Lihuayi’s 2-EH quotation this weekend was 10,700 RMB/ton, compared with the beginning of the week, the quotation dropped by 800 RMB/ton; Hualu Hengsheng's 2-EH quotation this weekend was 11,200 RMB/ton, compared with the beginning of the week, the quotation dropped 800 RMB/ton.

From the perspective of the upstream and downstream industry chain, the 2-EH upstream raw material market saw a decline in the propylene market this week. The quotation dropped from 7,304.55 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week to 7,292.73 RMB/ton at the weekend, a decrease of 0.16% and a year-on-year increase of 4.43%. The upstream raw material market prices fell slightly. Affected by supply and demand, it has a negative impact on the price of 2-EH.

In the downstream market of 2-EH, the DOP ex-factory price dropped significantly this week. DOP quotation fell from 10,250.00 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week to 9,825.00 RMB/ton at the weekend, a decrease of 4.15% and a year-on-year increase of 35.21% over the same period last year. Downstream DOP prices fell, downstream customers were less active in purchasing 2-EH, and the demand for 2-EH was general. Most of the market outlook players were watching DOP trends.

Market outlook

In mid-January, the market trend of Shandong 2-EH may fluctuate slightly. The upstream propylene market declined slightly, the raw material support was weak, the downstream DOP market fell sharply, the downstream purchasing enthusiasm weakened, and the supply of 2-EH was normal.
