Price trend

According to the monitoring of SunSirs, on January 19, the average price of paraformaldehyde in Shandong was 6,033 RMB/ton. Last week, the average price was 5,600 RMB/ton, and the quotation increased by 7.74%. The spot of paraformaldehyde was tight and the price was rising.

Shandong Aldehyde Chemical Co., Ltd. has an annual output of 30,000 tons of paraformaldehyde. The ex-factory price of paraformaldehyde (96) was 5,400 RMB/ton including tax, which was the same as last week. Linyi Shengyang Chemical Co., Ltd., with an annual output of 9,000 tons of paraformaldehyde, the ex-factory price of paraformaldehyde (96) was 6,500 RMB/ton including tax, which was an increase of 500 RMB/ton from last week. Zibo Qixing Chemical Technology Co., Ltd., with an annual output of 10,000 tons of paraformaldehyde, the ex-factory price of paraformaldehyde (96) including tax was 6,200 RMB/ton, which was increased by 800 RMB/ton from the previous time; Nanjing Qianrui Chemical's paraformaldehyde (96) price was 3,100 RMB/ton, which was the same as last time. Affected by the epidemic, paraformaldehyde companies in Hebei shut down operations, the supply of paraformaldehyde in the market was tight, and corporate quotations rose. The demand for downstream pesticides was acceptable.

The upstream raw material methanol, according to the monitoring data of SunSirs, on January 1, the average producer price in Shandong area was 2,310 RMB/ton, and on January 18, the average producer price in Shandong area was 2,362 RMB/ton, an increase of 2.27%.

Market outlook

The supply of paraformaldehyde is scarce, which gives paraformaldehyde a certain price support. The paraformaldehyde analysts of SunSirs predict that paraformaldehyde price may go up.
