On February 8, the average market price of softwood pulp in Shandong was 6,537.5 RMB/ ton, which was stable compared with the average market price of softwood pulp in Shandong the previous day (the average market price of softwood pulp on February 7 was 6,537.5 RMB/ ton). On February 8, the average market price of hardwood pulp in Shandong was 5,200 RMB/ ton, which remained stable compared with the previous day (the average market price of hardwood pulp on February 7 was 5,200 RMB/ ton).

Through the observation of market changes, with the approaching of the Spring Festival holiday, the volume of imported wood pulp spot market decreased. Although the price rising news of the downstream base paper market has played a certain role in supporting the wood pulp market, in terms of logistics, the reduction and shutdown of transport vehicles have increased the cost of wood pulp products, so traders have basically suspended the quotation recently.

From the perspective of pulp futures, the current futures price is still in an upward trend. If this rising form continues in the Spring Festival holiday week, the spot price of wood pulp will also drive up after the festival. At present, the paper mills mainly consume the raw material inventory in the early stage, the paper mills have low acceptance of high price goods, and the wood pulp market presents a state of price but no market.

In terms of futures, on February 8, the opening price of the main contract SP2103 of Shanghai Stock Exchange pulp futures was 6,600 RMB/ ton, and settlement price of the previous day was 6,598 RMB/ ton, with 155,707 transactions and 85,850 positions. SP2105 contract opening price 6,576 RMB/ ton, the settlement price of the previous day 6,566 RMB/ ton, 378,586 transactions, 166,758 positions.

With the end of the Spring Festival holiday in the future, the market operation rate will recover, and the demand will be improved.
