According to the monitoring of SunSirs, the average price of paraformaldehyde on April 9 was 6,000 RMB/ton, and the average price on April 5 was 6,133 RMB/ton, and the quotation dropped by 2.17%.

Analysis review

On April 6, Shandong Aldehyde Chemical Co., Ltd., with an annual output of 30,000 tons of paraformaldehyde, the ex-factory price of paraformaldehyde (96) including tax was 5,800 RMB/ton, which was 200 RMB/ton lower than the previous time. Linyi Shengyang Chemical Co., Ltd., with an annual output of 9,000 tons of paraformaldehyde, the ex-factory price of paraformaldehyde (96) including tax was 5,900 RMB/ton, which was the same as last time. Zibo Qixing Chemical Technology Co., Ltd., with an annual output of 10,000 tons of paraformaldehyde, the ex-factory price of paraformaldehyde (96) including tax was 6,300 RMB/ton, which was 200 RMB/ton lower than last time. Manufacturers responded that due to the drop in raw materials, some manufacturers lowered their quotations. Paraformaldehyde was still available in the market, and it is mainly used in pesticide resins.

The upstream raw material methanol, according to the monitoring of SunSirs, this week, the domestic methanol production enterprises in Shandong region rose 0.74%. As of April 8, the average price of domestic methanol production enterprises in Shandong area was 2,395 RMB/ton, and the price increased by 2.57% month-on-month and 39.65% year-on-year.

Market outlook

The paraformaldehyde analyst of SunSirs predicts that the price of paraformaldehyde has limited room to drop for the recent rise in methanol.
