On April 23, the average purchase price of waste yellow board was 2,252.14 RMB/ ton, which was 5.71 RMB/ ton higher than that at the beginning of the week (April 18, the average purchase price of waste paper was 2,246.43 RMB/ ton), up 0.25%. The price of corrugated paper continued to show a downward trend. On April 23, the average ex-factory price of 140g corrugated base paper was 3,425 RMB/ ton, which was reduced 75 RMB/ ton compared with the average ex-factory price of 140g corrugated base paper at the beginning of the month (on April 18, the average ex-factory price of 140g corrugated base paper was 3,500 RMB/ ton), a decrease of 2.14%.

Through the observation of market changes, the price of wastepaper finally stopped falling last week and returned to the upward path. However, most of the enterprises with the rising price of wastepaper were concentrated in central and South China. At present, due to the low downstream demand, the paper enterprises' purchasing interest is low, and the receiving and shipping volume is relatively stable. Now the rise and fall of the purchase price of wastepaper is basically proportional to the demand of paper mills.

In terms of the price of corrugated base paper, last week, the price of corrugated paper continued to show a downward trend, and some large-scale paper enterprises implemented preferential policies again, which increased the bearish sentiment of downstream packaging plants and made them less willing to receive goods. At present, the paper market trading is light, part of the paper enterprise inventory in the state of accumulation, the downstreams basically purchase by need. The price of wastepaper increases in a narrow range, so the cost support is limited.

SunSirs analysts believe that the current round of wastepaper and corrugated paper prices show a downward trend, the rise of wastepaper is conducive to the reserve of raw materials, and the decline of corrugated paper makes the paper mills further reduce inventory. It is expected that the prices of wastepaper and corrugated paper may return to stability in the short term in China.
