Price trend

According to the monitoring of bulk commodity data, the price of IPA fell this week. The average domestic IPA price last Thursday was 9,266.67 RMB/ton, and the average price this Thursday was 8,866.67 RMB/ton. The price fell within the week by 4.32%.

Analysis review

IPA prices fell this week. Internationally, IPA in the United States closed lower on May 11, while IPA in Europe closed lower. As of the 13th, the negotiation range of IPA in Shandong Province was about 8,500-9,000 RMB/ton, and that of IPA in Jiangsu Province was about 8,700-8,800 RMB/ton. Zhejiang IPA negotiation range was around 8,700 RMB/ton. The raw material acetone fell, the start rate of the plant producing IPA by acetone method in East China increased, the spot supply tension was relieved, and the downstream wait-and-see sentiment was obvious, the inquiry was general, the trading atmosphere in IPA was not good and the price was decreased significantly.

In terms of raw material acetone, the domestic acetone market fell significantly this week. The average price of domestic acetone was 8,225 RMB/ton on last Thursday and 7,600 RMB/ton on this Thursday. The price fell by 7.6% during the week. After the festival, the port inventory increased significantly, the factory billing decreased slightly, the downstream terminal factory's replenishment enthusiasm was not high, the on-site inquiry situation was general, the on-site trading atmosphere was poor, the on-site actual orders continued to decline, and the low-level offer continued.

In terms of raw material propylene, the overall price of propylene market increased slightly this week, but the overall rate was not large. The average price of domestic propylene was 8,268.45 RMB/ton on last Thursday, and 8,378.45 RMB/ton on this Thursday. The price rose by 1.33% in the week. The propylene market had no pressure on inventory, some units were still under maintenance, and the supply was slightly tight. Some enterprises suspended the quotation, and the price rose slightly.

Market outlook

The IPA analyst of SunSirs believes that: foreign export orders were average, the domestic raw material acetone fell, the operating rate of the East China acetone-based IPA plant increased, the tight spot supply was eased, and the downstream was mostly wait-and-see, and buying was cautious. It is expected that IPA will continue to decrease slightly in the short term.
