Price trend

According to the data of SunSirs, the domestic maleic anhydride market price rose slightly this week. As of January 28, the average price of maleic anhydride by benzene hydrogenation method remained at 11,400.00 RMB/ton, compared with the average price of 11,333.33 RMB/ton on January 17, an increase of 0.59% , and down 16.59% from the same period last month.

On January 28, the maleic anhydride commodity index was 107.39, the same as previous day, down 35.47% from the highest point in the cycle (166.43 points on 2021-12-15), and up 109.83% from the lowest point of 51.18 points on April 14, 2020. (Note: The cycle refers to 2011-09-01 to the present)

Analysis review

The domestic benzene maleic anhydride market started stable this week. Recently, the downstream unsaturated resin resin market had entered a shutdown period one after another. As of the 28th, the price of solid maleic anhydride in Shandong was about 11,500 RMB/ton, the price of solid maleic anhydride in Jiangsu was about 11,000 RMB/ton, the price of solid maleic anhydride in Shanxi was about 11,500 RMB/ton, the price of solid maleic anhydride in Hebei was about 11,500 RMB/ton, and the price of solid maleic anhydride in South China was about 11,000 RMB/ton. The domestic maleic anhydride market had a small amount of spot before the holiday, and the overall situation was stable and wait-and-see.

On the upstream side, the price of pure benzene had risen recently. The average price of pure benzene on January 28 was 7,620 RMB/ton, and the average price of pure benzene on January 17 was 7,570 RMB/ton, an increase of 0.66%.This week, the market price of hydrogenated benzene in Shandong region rose and then fell back. It was 7,525 RMB/ton on January 28 and 7,525 RMB/ton on January 17, and the overall price was flat. In terms of n-butane, as of January 28, the price in Shandong was 6,200.00 RMB/ton.

Market outlook

The maleic anhydride product analyst of SunSirs believes that the domestic maleic anhydride market was in high order, and there were few stocks. It was expected that the short-term maleic anhydride market would remain at a high level.
