Price trend

According to the data monitoring of SunSirs, the vinyl cyanide market fell slightly in February. As of February 26, the price of vinyl cyanide was 11,460 RMB/ton, down 2.22% from 11,720 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month, and the market continued to be weak.

Analysis review

In February, the price of raw material propylene rose, and the cost side had support for the market. According to the monitoring of SunSirs, as of February 26, the domestic price of propylene was 8,200 RMB/ton, an increase of 5.80% from the price of 7,750 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month.

According to the understanding of SunSirs, in February, the domestic vinyl cyanide plant started at 80-90% of the load. Since the new vinyl cyanide plants such as Lihuayi and Sierbang have been put into operation, the monthly output of vinyl cyanide has increased by more than 20,000 tons compared with the previous period, and the supply side is mainly loose.

After the Spring Festival, the downstream ABS started construction at around 90%, and the demand for vinyl cyanide had support, but after the holiday, ABS, acrylic fiber, Vinyl cyanide-butadiene rubberr and other markets were weak, and there was little support for vinyl cyanide.

Market outlook

The vinyl cyanide analyst of SunSirs believes that the current cost side is rising, the supply side is relatively loose, and the downstream market has not seen obvious signs of rising. It is expected that the vinyl cyanide market will fluctuate and consolidate in the later period.
