SunSirs: With Loose Supply, the Vinyl cyanide Market Fell Slightly (April 15-22)
April 24 2022 09:40:45SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the data monitoring of SunSirs, the vinyl cyanide market fell slightly this week (4.15-4.22). As of April 22, the price of acrylonitrile was 11,560 RMB/ton, down 2.03% from last Friday's 11,800 RMB/ton.

Analysis review

Domestic vinyl cyanide plants such as Haijiang and Keluer in Shandong continued to stop, and the domestic vinyl cyanide industry started at around 70%. The downstream demand was weak, and the market offer fell slightly. As of April 22, the vinyl cyanide market offer in East China was between 11,200 and 12,000 RMB/ton.

Since April, the price of raw material propylene has risen slightly, and the cost side has been supported. According to the monitoring of SunSirs, as of April 22, the domestic price of propylene was 8,421 RMB/ton, an increase of 2.69% from the price of 8,200 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month.

The downstream ABS market was sluggish, the acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber was at a low level in the early stage, and the demand sides had insufficient support for vinyl cyanide; the acrylic fiber market was stable and the start-up was high, and which had a certain rigid demand support for vinyl cyanide.

Market outlook

The vinyl cyanide analyst of SunSirs believes that on the one hand, the supply side continues to be looser than the previous period, and the downstream demand support is slightly weaker; on the other hand, the cost sides still have support for vinyl cyanide. It is expected that the price of vinyl cyanide in the later period will be dominated by shock and consolidation.
