According to the monitoring data of SunSirs, as of April 27, the average quotation price of acrylic acid in East China was 14,433.33 RMB/ton, a decrease of 5.66% compared with the price on April 1, and an increase of 4.34% in a three-month period.

Analysis review

In April, the acrylic acid market first fell and then rose. In the first half of the month, the price of raw material propylene fluctuated and rose slightly, and the cost side had certain support. Some installations were overhauled, but the downstream demand was insufficient. End users continued to wait and see, and the stockholders were not able to ship smoothly, and the price of acrylic acid continued to fall. In the second half of the month, the price of raw material propylene was mainly stable with small fluctuations, the impact from the cost side was limited, the operating rate of the plant was low, the market supply decreased, the demand side improved, the market trading atmosphere gradually improved, and the market trend was mild and positive. Near the end of the month, the downstream stocked before the holiday, the supply was tight, and the acrylic acid market was running strongly.

Upstream propylene, according to the monitoring data of SunSirs, on April 26, the reference price of propylene was 8,414.60 RMB/ton, an increase of 2.61% compared with April 1 (8,200.80 RMB/ton).

Market outlook

The acrylic acid analyst of SunSirs believes that the current trading atmosphere of the raw material propylene in the market has limited changes, and the cost support is acceptable. With the basic completion of downstream replenishment, the market mentality is cautious and wait-and-see.
