On May 23, 2022, the market price of softwood pulp was 7,320 RMB/ton, and the market price of hardwood pulp was 6,550 RMB/ton.

Analysis review

On the 23rd, the spot price of softwood pulp was slightly lowered, and the price of pulp futures stopped rising and corrected. On the disk, the opening price of the sp2209 contract was 7,372 RMB/ton, and the closing price was 7,232 RMB/ton, a daily decrease of 1.85%.

At present, the domestic market's demand for wood pulp continues to be sluggish, market logistics and transportation are still affected to a certain extent, and paper companies' shipments have not improved significantly, thus suppressing pulp prices.

Market outlook

At present, the quotation of pulp in the outer disk is relatively stable, which is under pressure on the price increase. In addition, the slight appreciation of the RMB has narrowed the internal and external differences of wood pulp. It is expected that the spot price of wood pulp will be weakly fluctuated in the short term.
