Price trend

According to the monitoring data of SunSirs, as of May 29, the average price of acrylic acid in East China was 14,633.33 RMB/ton, an increase of 1.39% compared with the price on May 1, and a decrease of 8.73% in a three-month period. Compared with the same period last year, it increased by 43.46%.

Analysis review

In May, the acrylic acid market rose first and then fell. In the first half of the month, the price of raw material propylene rose first and then fell, with a certain level of support in terms of cost. Some devices were shut down for maintenance, the overall inventory of the industry was not high, export inquiries were good, downstream demand was gradually recovering, and market discussions rose moderately. In the second half of the month, the price of raw material propylene fell, and the cost support weakened. The operating rate of the acrylic acid market increased compared with the previous period, but the supply side still had some support. Downstream factories were sluggish, and they ere cautious about purchasing acrylic acid, and were mainly waiting and seeing. The demand-side follow-up was insufficient, the market transaction atmosphere was light, the holders were actively shipping, and the price of acrylic acid had declined.

Upstream propylene, according to the data monitoring of SunSirs, this week (5.23-5.27) the domestic propylene (Shandong) market price continued to decline. The propylene market was at 8,210 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week, and the average price of propylene at the weekend was 8,111 RMB/ton, a decrease of 1.21%. On May 27, the reference price of propylene was 8,111.60 RMB/ton, a decrease of 3.6% compared with May 1 (8,414.60 RMB/ton).

Market outlook
