SunSirs: Demand Improved, and Egg Prices Rose
July 19 2022 09:16:02SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the monitoring of SunSirs: the price of eggs at the beginning of this week was 4.54 RMB/catties, and the price of eggs this weekend was 4.65 RMB/catties, the price increased by 2.42%, and the price increased by 6.65% compared with the same period last year.

Analysis review

The terminal consumption of eggs has improved. As the peak season is gradually approaching, traders have become more active in stocking up than in the previous period, and the number of days of inventory in each link continued to decline month-on-month. According to the normal law, the demand for eggs will reach the highest point of the year before the Mid-Autumn Festival. But in the second half of this year, the demand side should also pay attention to the impact of the macro on the total market demand.

In the short term, the supply of eggs is stable to tight, which is bullish for the spot price of eggs. At present, the price of chicks and the utilization rate of hatching eggs have remained the same month-on-month. At present, the breeding side is not willing to supplement the pens, and the amount of supplementary pens is stable. According to the historical restocking situation, there is a high probability that the number of new laying hens will not increase significantly before November. In the case of stable elimination, the supply side will still be bullish for egg prices in the second half of the year.

Market outlook

As the peak season is approaching, the demand is bullish for the price, and the tight supply side is bullish for the egg price. It is expected that the spot price of eggs may continue to rise in the short term.
