Price trend

According to statistics from SunSirs, the price of seamless tubes fell slightly this week. As of the weekend, the price of 20#, 108*4.5 seamless tube was 5,340 RMB/ton, down 1.29% from the price of 5,410 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week and down 12.85% year-on-year.

Analysis review

Upstream billet prices were mixed this week. At present, the market price of 20# hot-rolled billet in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai is 4,150-4,200 RMB/ton, and the market price of tube billet in Shandong is 3,970-4,100 RMB/ton. The price of the pipe factory also went up and down, and the ex-factory price of the seamless tube went up and down. Among them, the ex-factory quotation of Panjin seamless tube was raised by 30-50 RMB/ton, and the ex-factory quotation of seamless tube of Yunnan Phoenix Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. was reduced by 50 RMB/ton.

In terms of supply, the inventory of pipe factories has continued to decrease recently, and the market inventory has basically remained at a low level, and the overall supply pressure is not large. Market traders still focus on shipments, but the bearish mentality has been restored compared to the previous period. The middle of July has passed, and many customers still have optimistic expectations for the demand in August. With the gradual progress of the Northern Project, it is expected that the national demand for seamless tubes may increase in August.

Market outlook

It is expected that the price of domestic seamless tubes will stop falling and stabilize next week.
