On August 16, the rare earth index was 698 points, down 3 points from previous day, down 30.69% from the highest point in the cycle (1007 points on 2022-02-24), and up 157.56% from the lowest point of 271 points on September 13, 2015 %. (Note: The cycle refers to 2011-12-01 to the present)

Analysis review

The domestic rare earth index declined, and the domestic light rare earth praseodymium and neodymium prices fell. The price of Pr-Nd alloy fell by 5,000 RMB/ton to 900,000 RMB/ton, the price of praseodymium and neodymium oxide fell by 2,500 RMB/ton to 742,500 RMB/ton, the price of neodymium oxide fell by 7,500 RMB/ton to 772,500 RMB/ton, the price of metal neodymium fell by 10,000 RMB/ton to 965,000 RMB/ton, the price of praseodymium metal was 1.065 million RMB/ton, and the price of praseodymium oxide was 785,000 RMB/ton, the price of terbium oxide was 13.65 million RMB/ton, the price of metal terbium was 17.4 million RMB/ton, the price of dysprosium oxide was 2.27 million RMB/ton, the price of dysprosium metal was 3.02 million RMB/ton, and the price of dysprosium ferroalloy fell by 20,000 RMB/ton to 2.25 million RMB/ton.

The domestic light rare earth market prices declined, traders were generally active, and metal factories were cautious and just need to follow up. In the domestic heavy rare earth market, the price of dysprosium series declined, and the price of terbium series fell slightly. The downstream purchases were mainly on-demand, and Myanmar banned exports.

Market outlook

It is expected that the domestic rare earth market may continue to decline in the later period.
