Analysis review
It can be seen from the data monitoring chart of SunSirs that from August 1 to 24, the domestic n-butanol market in Shandong showed a fluctuating decline as a whole, and the decline was more obvious. In the first ten days of August, affected by the lack of downstream demand, the n-butanol market continued to decline. As of August 15, the low-end price of n-butanol in the n-butanol market had dropped to about 6,500 RMB/ton, a drop of more than 10% in the first ten days. In late August, as the market price of n-butanol fell to a low point, the on-site transaction improved. After some factories destocked, the price increased slightly. On August 19, the market price of n-butanol was around 6,700-6,900 RMB/ton. However, the downstream operating rate was average, and the demand for continuous support was still insufficient. Near the end of the month, the n-butanol market fell again. Some n-butanol factories lowered the price of n-butanol by around 100-200 RMB/ton. As of August 24, the domestic n-butanol ex-factory price in Shandong was around 6,400-6,800 RMB/ton, a drop of 10.14% within the month. At present, the transaction situation of n-butanol in the market is general, and the transaction is light.
In terms of upstream propylene, from August 1st to 24th, the domestic propylene market in Shandong showed a downward trend as a whole. According to the data monitoring of SunSirs, on August 23, the reference price of propylene was 6,860.60 RMB/ton, a decrease of 6.64% compared with August 1 (7,348.60 RMB/ton).
Market outlook
At present, the trading atmosphere of the n-butanol market is weak, the confidence of the industry is general, the downstream construction is low, and the transmission of supply and demand is relatively slow. The n-butanol data engineer of SunSirs believes that in the short term, the domestic n-butanol market in Shandong will be mainly based on the range operation, and more attention should be paid to the changes in raw materials and the news on the supply and demand side.
