SunSirs: Dichloromethane Market Prices Rose Sharply (September 9-16)
September 19 2022 10:14:56SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the data monitoring of SunSirs, the dichloromethane market rose this week (9.9-9.16). As of September 16, the average price of dichloromethane bulk water in Shandong was 3,370 RMB/ton, an increase of 6.65% from last Friday's 3,160 RMB/ton.

On the one hand, the price of raw material methanol has risen sharply since September, which is supported by the cost; on the other hand, the methane chloride plants such as Jinling and Jinyi have been operating at a reduced rate, with limited billing and tight supply in the region. Offers from manufacturers and traders continued to rise slightly this week.

Analysis review

This week (9.9-9.16), the domestic methane chloride construction was basically stable. Since September, Jinling and Jinyi have a total of 740,000 tons/year methane chloride plants, which have been operating at a reduced load, which have certain support for the dichloromethane market.

This week (9.9-9.16) the spot price of methanol was higher, and the cost of dichloromethane supported stronger. According to the understanding of SunSirs, as of September 16, the spot price of methanol was 2,770 RMB/ton, an increase of 2.12% from 2,712 RMB/ton on Friday. The domestic methanol market fluctuated higher. As an energy product, coal continues to be in short supply, and methanol has strong cost support.

The traditional gold, September, and October peak seasons are coming, and the downstream thin materials, cleaning, and pharmaceutical industries have a small amount of stocking, and the support for dichloromethane has been slightly enhanced.

Market outlook

The methane chloride data analyst of SunSirs believes that the domestic supply of methane chloride has declined slightly in the short term, and the cost has risen sharply. In addition, the downstream demand has increased slightly in gold September. It is expected that dichloromethane may continue to rebound slightly in the later period, but the rebound rate is subject to the increase in demand.
