SunSirs: Aniline Steps Down in November and Decline of 19.11% Month-on-Month
December 02 2019 11:03:54SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the data of SunSirs, aniline fell slightly in November after a small rise, with a monthly decline of 19.11%. On October 31, the price in Shandong was 8300 RMB/ton, the price in Nanjing was 8700 RMB/ton; on November 30, the price in Shandong was 6500 RMB/ton, and the price in Nanjing was 6900 RMB/ton.

Analysis review

In terms of raw materials: pure benzene: This month, the range of pure benzene fluctuated within a narrow range. On November 30, the price of pure benzene was 5250-5351 RMB/ton. The tight domestic spot supply of pure benzene this month triggered a shortfall and drove up the price of pure benzene. Port inventory continued to fall below the level of 100,000 tons and the port to ship was also very limited. It was difficult to find low-cost resources on the market and the mentality of reluctant to sell increased.

Nitric acid: The price of nitric acid has gone down this month. At the end of October, the price of nitric acid in East China was 1716.67 RMB/ton. At the end of November, the price of nitric acid in East China was 1616.67 RMB/ton.

Product: The aniline units stopped by all enterprises this month basically recovered the load and the supply increased. Downstream demand has not been high, and corporate inventories have accumulated, and prices have been reduced many times to promote shipments.

Market outlook

In terms of raw materials: The current weak domestic demand for pure benzene downstream will still restrict market recovery. It is expected that the short-term pure benzene market will be difficult to recover, and the weak operation will be the main factor. However, the subsequent stocking before the Spring Festival will form a certain support for the market.

Domestic market: There is no large-scale shutdown of domestic aniline plants for the moment; the overall operating rate of downstream MDI is not high, demand is weak, and aniline prices are difficult to recover.

Considering comprehensively, it is expected that aniline will still operate weakly and stably in the short term, and attention should be paid to raw materials and downstream market.
