On October 27, 2022, Anglo American released a report on nickel production in the third quarter. In the third quarter, the company's two mining areas in South Africa and Brazil produced a total of 16,500 tons. Among them, the output of the Brazilian mine was 10,000 tons, down 4% year-on-year and 3% month-on-month; the output of the South African mine was 5,700 tons, down 5% year-on-year and 8% month-on-month.

Brazil business:

Barro Alto's production of ferronickel in the third quarter was 8,200 tons, down 1% year-on-year and 5% month-on-month.

Codemin's ferronickel production in the third quarter was 1,800 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 14% and a month-on-month increase of 6%.

The total output of ferronickel in the Brazilian business was 10,000 tons, down 4% year-on-year and 3% month-on-month; the total sales volume was 10,400 tons, down 11% year-on-year and up 33% month-on-month.

The decline in production was mainly due to lower ore grades. Nickel production fell 4% to 10,000 tonnes, mainly due to planned lower ore grades, partially offset by the postponement of annual maintenance to the fourth quarter of 2022.

South African business:

Refined nickel production at the Mogalakwena mine was 5,700 tonnes, down 5% year-on-year and 8% month-on-month.

The guidance target for nickel production in 2022 remains unchanged at 40,000-42,000 tons.
