Price trend
According to the monitoring data of SunSirs, as of November 25, 2022, the reference average ex factory price of domestic industrial dimethyl carbonate was 5,666 RMB/ton, which was 400 RMB/ton lower than that of November 1, 2022 (6,066 RMB/ton), a decline of 6.59%.
Analysis review
It can be seen from the data monitoring chart of SunSirs that since November (11.1-11.25), the domestic market of dimethyl carbonate had been in a state of shock and decline. In early November, the overall performance of domestic dimethyl carbonate market was relatively flat. At the beginning of the month, the downstream of dimethyl carbonate ushered in centralized replenishment. The market price had risen slightly for a short time, but after the demand became calm, the market price of dimethyl carbonate began to fall continuously. As of November 15, dimethyl carbonate fell by 2.20% in half a month.
In late November, the downstream demand for dimethyl carbonate was not improved, the raw material propylene oxide market also began to decline from a high level, and the cost side support also began to loosen. Near the end of the month, the decline of dimethyl carbonate increased. On November 25, the market price of dimethyl carbonate was 5,666 RMB/ton, down 5% in five days. As of the 25th, low prices had been reported in the dimethyl carbonate market, and the overall market was still weak.
For upstream propylene oxide, since November (11.1-11.25), the overall domestic propylene oxide market had risen first and then fell. According to business data, the reference price of propylene oxide on November 24 was 9,550 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.17% compared with that on November 1 (9,566.67 RMB/ton).
Market outlook
The trading atmosphere of dimethyl carbonate in the market is general, the downstream demand is more cautious, and the procurement is mainly just needed. Dimethyl carbonate mathematicians from SunSirs believe that in the short term, the domestic market of dimethyl carbonate will be dominated by weak consolidation and operation, and the specific trend needs to pay more attention to the information changes on the supply and demand side.
