SunSirs: The Peak Season has Arrived, China BOPP Prices have Remained Stable This Week
May 10 2024 16:24:15SunSirs(Selena)

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the BOPP market prices have remained stable this week. As of May 9th, the mainstream quoted price of 18 μm BOPP film from China domestic producers and traders is around 9,633.33 RMB/ton, which is consistent with last week's average price and the average price at the beginning of the month.

In terms of raw materials: From the above chart, it can be seen that the price of raw material PP has fluctuated and fallen this week. The mainstream quoted price of T30S (wire drawing) by domestic producers and traders is around 7,821.43 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.27% compared to last week (78,42.86 RMB/ton), and a decrease of 0.27% compared to the beginning of this month (7,842.86 RMB/ton). The strength of raw material PP alternates in April, leading to higher costs and pressure on BOPP film prices.

In terms of supply: membrane enterprises reduced production in a small amount, and the operating rate was reduced. The overall load of the industry was about 52%, and the supply side was more favorable to the price.

In terms of demand: It is the peak season, but downstream procurement demand is weak, transaction volume is weak, and orders are mostly for essential stock preparation, resulting in slow digestion of enterprise inventory. Market demand has weak support for prices.

The prices of upstream raw materials have alternately strengthened, and the cost side has weak support for the market; Downstream demand enterprises tend to have a willingness to replenish essential goods, resulting in weak transactions; There is not much room for film companies to make concessions, and it is expected that BOPP prices will experience narrow fluctuations and consolidation in the near future.
