SunSirs: Carbon Black Enterprises Had Strong Cost-side Support and Prices Rose Slightly
September 20 2022 09:54:29SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the data monitored by SunSirs, the domestic carbon black price was 10,500 RMB/ton on September 19. The overall domestic carbon black market did not change much this month, with a slight upward trend. The price of raw coal tar continued to rise. The cost-side support of carbon black enterprises was strong, and the price of carbon black rose slightly, with a consolidating operation.

Analysis review

On the cost side, the supply of coal tar in the coal tar market continued to be tense. The market price of high-temperature coal tar, a raw material, was operating at a high level. The cost-side support of carbon black enterprises was strong. Driven by costs, the overall market price of carbon black rose slightly. Most deep processing and carbon black companies are facing losses. At present, carbon black companies are not very motivated to start construction, and the overall start-up load has dropped significantly.

On the demand side, downstream tire enterprises are not very motivated to start construction, and there is insufficient demand for carbon black. Terminal enterprises have limited demand for carbon black, and there is no obvious positive support for the demand. The price of new orders is severely depressed, and the purchase is mainly based on just-needed purchases, and the market transaction is average.

Market outlook

On the whole, it is expected that the market price of carbon black will be on the strong side.
