SunSirs: The N-butanol Market Was Weak and Declined (May 29-June 6)

June 06 2023 13:42:39     SunSirs (John)

Price trend

According to monitoring data from SunSirs, as of June 6, 2023, the reference price of n-butanol in the Shandong region of China was 7,000 RMB/ton. Compared to May 29 (the reference price of n-butanol was 7,500 RMB/ton), the price was reduced by 500 RMB/ton, a decrease of 6.67%.

Analysis review

From the data monitoring chart of SunSirs, it can be seen that in the recent period (5.29-6.6), the domestic Shandong n-butanol market has shown a weak decline overall. Entering June, the downstream demand for n-butanol in the Shandong region has weakened, and the support provided by the demand side for n-butanol has become loose. The supply and demand transmission of n-butanol has been slow, and the supply-demand contradiction on the market has increased. Some n-butanol factories and supply have made concessions for shipment, and the price of n-butanol has been adjusted downwards, with a cumulative downward adjustment of around 300-600 RMB/ton. As of June 6, the market price of n-butanol in Shandong Province was around 6,800-7,200 RMB/ton.

Market outlook

At present, the n-butanol market as a whole is operating in a weak state, The trading atmosphere on the exchange is light, new orders increasing is average, and the game between supply and demand is gradually emerging. SunSirs’ n-butanol data analyst predicts that in the short term, the domestic Shandong region's n-butanol market will mostly adjust to be weaker in a narrow range, and the specific trend still needs to pay more attention to specific news changes on the supply and demand side.
