SunSirs: EU Corn and Rapeseed Yield Forecast significantly Lowered in 2024
August 28 2024 11:16:05     SunSirs (Selena)The EU crop monitoring agency MARS released its monthly report on Monday, lowering its average yield forecast for most crops in the EU this year. Among them, corn yield has been significantly lowered again. MARS predicts that the average yield of corn in the EU in 2024 will be 7.03 tons per hectare, lower than the July forecast of 7.24 tons per hectare, 6% lower than last year's yield, and 4% lower than the average yield of 7.35 tons per hectare in the past five years.
The EU crop monitoring agency MARS released its monthly report on Monday, lowering its average yield forecast for most EU crops in 2024. MARS lowered the EU rapeseed yield to 3.07 tons/hectare, lower than last month's forecast of 3.10 tons/hectare and 3% lower than the five-year average yield. The estimated soybean yield per hectare in the European Union is 2.75 tons, lower than last month's forecast of 2.86 tons per hectare, but still higher than the five-year average of 2.73 tons per hectare.
