According to the monitoring of the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, the price trend of anhydrous hydrofluoric acid in China declined in August. As of August 30th, the benchmark price of hydrofluoric acid in SunSirs was 10,800.00 RMB/ton, a decrease of 4.42% compared to the beginning of this month (11,300.00 RMB/ton).
Analysis review
Raw material side: The price of raw material sulfuric acid continued to rise and only fell slightly towards the end of the month. The situation of the game in the domestic fluorite industry still existed. Overall, the operating rate of enterprises had not changed much. Upstream mining was tight, backward mines would continue to be eliminated, and as for new mines, mineral investigation work was still difficult. In addition, the national department will carry out renovation of fluorite mines in the near future, and fluorite mining enterprises were facing increasingly strict safety and environmental protection requirements. In addition, the high temperature and rainy weather in the southern region increased the difficulty of operating fluorite mines, and the shortage of raw materials had limited the operation of fluorite enterprises. The supply of fluorite sources was still tight, and the decline in fluorite prices was somewhat restricted. Some domestic enterprises' facilities for hydrofluoric acid were still shut down and waiting for the market, resulting in limited release of hydrofluoric acid production, low industry profits, and increased losses. Overall, there was still pressure on production costs for enterprises, and the hydrogen fluoride market was weak and declining. According to the monitoring system of SunSirs, as of August 30th, the benchmark price of sulfuric acid in SunSirs was 340.00 RMB/ton, an increase of 30.77% compared to the beginning of this month (260.00 RMB/ton).
On the demand side: The downstream refrigerant market production demand was weakening, and air conditioning companies were entering the annual maintenance season. In addition, with the recent continuous rainy weather, refrigerant companies had poor stocking conditions and were not actively purchasing upstream products. They were lowering prices for procurement and replenished on demand.
Market outlook
Recently, the price of upstream sulfuric acid continued to rise, putting significant pressure on the production cost of hydrofluoric acid. The downstream refrigerant industry had entered the off-season with weak demand, which weakened the enthusiasm for purchasing hydrofluoric acid. It is expected that the price of hydrofluoric acid will be weak and stable in the later period.
