December 23 2024 14:09:23     SunSirs (John)Price trend
This week (12.13-12.20), the demand for dichloromethane was weak, and the price was slightly lowered. According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of December 20th, the average price of bulk dichloromethane in Shandong Province was 2,815 RMB/ton, with a weekly decline of 3.76%.
Analysis review
The price of dichloromethane in the domestic market remained stable and fluctuated. During the week, demand in the Shandong region weakened, and companies adjusted prices slightly based on inventory conditions. The market was in urgent need of purchasing, and the trading atmosphere was not optimistic. Demand was expected to replenish at lower prices. As of December 20th, the ex factory price of mainstream dichloromethane in Shandong region was around 2,810-2,850 RMB/ton.
Supply side: Some enterprises and factories had slightly restored their production capacity within the week
On the cost side: The methanol market was clearly on the rise, and factory supply might decrease. Under low inventory, enterprises mainly sold at high prices; In terms of ports, due to changes in equipment in the main regions of the Middle East, the mentality was relatively stronger, and inventory might continue to be depleted. Downstream demand was expected to maintain incremental growth. As of December 20th, the spot price of methanol in SunSirs was 2,625 RMB/ton, an increase of 3.18% from the beginning of the month. The market situation of liquid chlorine in Shandong had declined, with an increasing trend in liquid chlorine supply. Downstream demand for chlorine consumption had performed poorly, and the market transaction atmosphere had weakened.
Demand side: The refrigerant R32 market was temporarily operating steadily, approaching the first quarter long-term agreement price negotiation window. The overall trend was positive, and the export quotation market was more optimistic compared to the domestic market. The production inventory of enterprises was low, and the market was prone to rise but difficult to fall. Other applications should maintain a strong demand for purchasing and restock at low prices.
Market outlook
SunSirs’ analysts believe that the cost side had an upward trend and supported, the demand side was adopting a wait-and-see attitude, restocking at low prices, and the supply side inventory wass increasing. It is expected that the dichloromethane market will operate weakly and steadily in the short term.
