SunSirs: EU Imports 12.84 Million Tons of Soybean Meal in 2024/25 as of March 2
March 10 2025 15:30:49     SunSirs (Selena)According to EU data, the import volume of soybean meal in the EU has increased by nearly 30% so far in 2024/25, as the surge in imports from Argentina offset the slight decrease in imports from Brazil.
As of March 2, 2025, the EU imported 6.26 million tons of soybean meal from Brazil in the 2024/25 fiscal year (July to June), accounting for 48.7% of the EU's total imports, lower than the 6.33 million tons and 63.6% of the same period last year, respectively.
The second largest supplier is Argentina, with the European Union importing 4.93 million tons of soybean meal from Argentina, an increase of 181% from 1.76 million tons in the same period last year; The share increased from 17.7% in the same period last year to 38.4%.
The third largest supplier is Ukraine, with a quantity of 560,000 tons, higher than the 340,000 tons in the same period last year; The share increased from 3.4% to 4.4%.
The EU also imported 380,000 tons of soybean meal from India, with a share of 2.9%, higher than the same period last year's 30,000 tons and 0.3%, respectively.
Overall, the EU has imported 12.84 million tons of soybean meal so far in 2024/25, a year-on-year increase of 29%.
