According to the commodity analysis system of SunSirs, the market for locally refined petroleum coke first rose and then fell last week, with a slight overall increase. As of March 27th, the price of locally refined petroleum coke in the Shandong market was 2,387.50 RMB/ton, an increase of 0.21% from 2,382.50 RMB/ton on March 21st.

Last week, the trend of crude oil prices rose, and the inventory of US crude oil and finished products decreased. Coupled with the unstable geopolitical situation, international oil prices rose.

At the beginning of last week, downstream procurement was active, coupled with low inventory of petroleum coke in local refineries, resulting in a slight increase in petroleum coke prices; Mid week approaching the end of the month, downstream procurement is cautious, refinery shipments are hindered, and petroleum coke prices are fluctuating. Last week, imported coke arrived at the port and gradually entered the warehouse, mainly consisting of medium and high sulfur petroleum coke. Traders shipped steadily, while downstream enterprises maintained their demand for essential purchases.

Last week, the calcined coke market declined due to sufficient overall supply and limited downstream demand, resulting in a slight decline in the calcined coke market.

Market forecast: As the end of the month approaches, downstream purchases of petroleum coke will be cautious, and refinery shipments will be hindered, providing support for the petroleum coke market; At present, some refineries are undergoing maintenance, and the supply of petroleum coke may decrease. It is expected that petroleum coke will be mainly sorted out in the near future.
