April 18 2025 14:37:30     SunSirs (John)

Price trend

This week, the epichlorohydrin market showed an upward trend. According to the monitoring and analysis system of SunSirs, as of April 17th, the benchmark price of SunSirs' epichlorohydrin was 9,400 RMB/ton, an increase of 4.16% compared to early April.

Price influencing factors:

Raw material side: The market price of raw material propylene has declined. According to the market analysis system of SunSirs, as of April 17th, the benchmark price of propylene in SunSirs was 6,723.25 RMB/ton, a decrease of -0.33% compared to the beginning of this month (6,745.75 RMB/ton).

Supply side: The 100,000 ton/year plant of Shandong Minji was shut down on March 31st, and the restart time will be notified separately; The 100,000 ton/year plant of Quzhou Juhua was shut down on April 10th, with a planned duration of about a week. In addition, some devices were parked for a long time. The spot supply of glycerol based epichlorohydrin in the market was relatively tight, and enterprises had a positive attitude towards raising prices. Overall, the operating rate remained at around 50-60%.

Downstream demand side: The downstream epoxy resin market supply remained normal, with a capacity utilization rate of over 50%. The overall trading atmosphere has improved, with no inventory pressure and a positive purchasing atmosphere. It is expected that the market will mainly be upward in the future.

Market trend

Analysts from SunSirs believe that downstream market demand has improved and traders had a positive purchasing attitude. It is predicted that the epichlorohydrin market may continue to show a stronger trend in the later stage, and more attention still needs to be paid to changes in market supply and demand.
