SunSirs: Vinyl Cyanide Market Rose Slightly (August 19-26)
August 29 2022 09:44:47SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the data monitoring of SunSirs, the vinyl cyanide market fluctuated and consolidated this week (8.19-8.26). As of August 26, the domestic spot market price of vinyl cyanide was 8,970 RMB/ton, a slight increase of 0.22% from 8,950 RMB/ton last Friday.

Analysis review

The operating rate of the supply side of the domestic vinyl cyanide industry fell slightly compared with the previous period, and the overall operating rate was around 60%. However, the pressure on the supply side of the market was still there, and the downstream purchases were mainly based on small orders on demand, and the offers of merchants were slightly adjusted. As of August 26, the mainstream offer of the vinyl cyanide bulk water market in East China was between 8,400 and 9,200 yuan / ton.

This week (8.19-8.26), the price of raw material propylene fluctuated slightly lower, and the cost side did not change much. According to the monitoring of SunSirs, as of August 26, the domestic price of propylene was 6,920 RMB/ton, a slight decrease of 1.56% from last Friday's 7,030 RMB/ton.

The operating rate of downstream ABS increased slightly to about 80%, the operating rate of the acrylic fiber and acrylamide industries was low and stable, and the demand for vinyl cyanide slightly improved, but the supply of vinyl cyanide continued to be loose.

Market outlook

The vinyl cyanide analyst of SunSirs believes that the current supply and cost pressures restrict the upward momentum of vinyl cyanide, but the current price of vinyl cyanide has fallen to a staged low, and the demand side has improved slightly. It is expected that the vinyl cyanide market may rise in the later period.
