The latest estimated data shows that Thailand's rubber production is expected to increase by 2.9% to 4.93 million tons in 2025, and the preliminary data for 2024 is 4.79 million tons. Among them, the northern region increased by 2.4% to 297,000 tons; the northeastern region increased by 1.4% to 1.42 million tons; the central region increased by 1% to 395,000 tons; and the southern region increased by 4% to 2.82 million tons.
Data shows that the annual harvested area is expected to drop slightly by 0.1% to 22.45 million rai, and 22.47 million rai in 2024. Among them, the northern region increased by 0.9% to 1.45 million rai; the northeastern region increased by 0.2% to 6.12 million rai; the central region decreased by 0.8% to 2.14 million rai; and the southern region decreased by 0.23% to 12.74 million rai.
In addition, the annual per mu yield increased from 213 kg/rai to 220 kg/rai, an increase of 3.3%. Among them, the northern region increased to 205 kg/rai; the northeastern region increased to 232 kg/rai; the central region increased to 185 kg/rai; and the southern region increased to 221 kg/rai.
The increase in production in 2025 is mainly due to the expectation that there will be sufficient rainfall in that year, the probability of rubber tree leaf fall disease outbreak will decrease, and the increase in per mu yield will offset the impact of the reduction in harvesting area.
