On Friday (August 23), the price of galvanized sheet was 4,263 RMB/ton, a decrease of 2.35% compared to last week and 17.14% compared to the same period last year. The downstream demand in the coating market was lukewarm, and market transactions were relatively weak.

Market outlook

This week, the five major steel varieties supplied 7.7894 million tons, an increase of 9,600 tons or 0.1% compared to the previous week; The total inventory of the five major steel products was 16.4186 million tons, with a decrease of 581,400 tons or 3.42% compared to the previous period; The weekly consumption of the five major varieties was 8.3708 million tons, an increase of 4.6% compared to the previous period; Among them, building materials consumption decreased by 0.5% month on month, while board consumption increased by 7.3% month on month.

Considering the arrival of the off-season, although most factories' costs continued to rise, their shipping mentality continued, and their offers remained strong at high levels. This week, most of the domestic facilities started working normally, but production and sales have not yet been balanced, and inventory was accumulating.
