Price trend

According to SunSirs' commodity price analysis system, the price of color coated steel sheets remained stable this week. On January 19th, the market price of color coated steel sheets was 6,350 RMB/ton, and on January 23rd, the price was also 6,350 RMB/ton. The price remained stable compared to last week and decreased by 7.299% compared to the same period last year.

Market analysis

Galvanized Steel Sheet: The price of galvanized steel sheets experienced a slight decrease this week. On Friday (January 23rd), the price of galvanized steel sheets was 4,050 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.123% compared to last week and a decrease of 8.163% compared to the same period last year. Downstream demand in the coated steel market remained lukewarm, resulting in weak market transactions.

Market outlook

This week, the supply of the five major steel product categories totaled 8.1959 million tons, a week-on-week increase of 0.038 million tons; the total inventory of the five major steel products was 12.5708 million tons, a week-on-week increase of 0.1007 million tons, representing a 0.8% increase; the weekly consumption of the five major product categories was 8.0952 million tons, with construction materials consumption decreasing by 0.8% week-on-week and plate steel consumption decreasing by 2.6% week-on-week.

Considering the approaching off-season, most factories, despite continuously rising costs, maintain their willingness to ship goods, and their quoted prices remain firm at high levels. This week, most domestic plants are operating normally, but production and sales are not yet balanced, resulting in a slight increase in inventory. Therefore, coated steel sheet prices are expected to remain relatively stable in the short term.
