From January to September, China's cumulative seamless pipe exports reached 4.5036 million metric tons, up 12.91% year-on-year. China imported 13,100 metric tons of seamless pipes in September, a 98.48% increase month-on-month and a 6.50% increase year-on-year. Cumulative imports from January to September reached 75,600 metric tons, down 13.80% year-on-year.
Data indicates that China's seamless pipe exports declined by 3.18% month-on-month in September, suggesting a short-term weakening of international demand that may exert some pressure on export market prices. However, the 14.75% year-on-year growth in exports and the 12.91% cumulative growth from January to September reflect that overall export demand remains robust.
Meanwhile, imports surged 98.48% month-on-month and rose 6.50% year-on-year, signaling robust domestic demand likely driven by infrastructure or manufacturing recovery, which supports spot prices.
Overall, the positive factors driven by import data are more pronounced, suggesting seamless pipe spot prices may see a slight increase in the near term.
