
The latest data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers on January 14th shows that in 2025, China's automobile industry will continue to demonstrate strong development resilience and vitality, with multiple economic indicators reaching new highs.
Data shows that in December, China's automobile production and sales reached 3.296 million and 3.272 million respectively, a month on month decrease of 6.7% and 4.6%, and a year-on-year decrease of 2.1% and 6.2%, respectively.
In the whole year of 2025, the production and sales of automobiles will be 34.531 million and 34.4 million respectively, an increase of 10.4% and 9.4% year-on-year, reaching a new historical high and ranking first in the world for 17 consecutive years. The release of new kinetic energy is accelerating, with the production and sales of new energy vehicles exceeding 16 million units, of which domestic new car sales account for over 50%, becoming the dominant force in China's automobile market. In terms of foreign trade, it has shown strong resilience, with automobile exports exceeding 7 million units and export scale reaching a new level. Among them, the export of new energy vehicles was 2.615 million units, a year-on-year increase of 100%.
Chen Shihua, Deputy Secretary General of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers: During the 14th Five Year Plan period, China's automobile industry has made breakthroughs in various aspects, with production and sales maintaining a scale of over 30 million vehicles for three consecutive years, operating income exceeding 10 trillion RMB, exports ranking first in the world, and the acceleration of the integration of electrification, intelligence, and networking, forming a leading advantage in the industry.
