Market analysis

Supply side: Some companies, such as Shandong Hualu Hengsheng and Henan Shouheng New Materials, had limited cyclohexane production capacity, and their inventories were high, leading to slow consumption. Downstream demand was insufficient. Demand side: As of January 26, downstream demand was weak, which hindered price increases, resulting in insufficient upward price momentum.

Upstream benzene: Upstream benzene prices mainly showed a narrow upward trend. The price increase led to a recovery in demand, and overall supply remained tight. A high-level volatile trend is expected in the short term.

Weakness in Core Downstream Sectors: Cyclohexane is primarily used in the production of caprolactam (accounting for approximately 60% of demand) and cyclohexanone, which are further used in the manufacture of nylon 6, nylon 66, etc. However, in 2025, the operating rates of downstream synthetic fiber and engineering plastics industries were insufficient, and purchasing intentions were weak, leading to sluggish demand growth and inventory pressure. Due to insufficient demand, cyclohexane inventories remained high, making it difficult for companies to ship products, further suppressing purchasing enthusiasm. Export Market: Demand for cyclohexane is growing rapidly in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, providing international market opportunities for Chinese companies, but the increase in orders is limited and has not fully offset the weak domestic demand.
