Price trend
At the beginning of April, the supply of epichlorohydrin in the market was reduced, and prices were tentatively pushed up. According to the monitoring and analysis system of SunSirs, as of April 1st, the benchmark price of SunSirs' epichlorohydrin was 8,900 RMB/ton, an increase of 0.56% compared to the end of March (8,850 RMB/ton).
Analysis review
Price influencing factors:
Raw material side: The market price of raw material propylene and glycerol was mainly consolidating, with little impact on epichlorohydrin. According to the market analysis system of SunSirs, as of March 31st, the benchmark price of propylene in SunSirs was 6,735.75 RMB/ton, a decrease of 1.14% compared to the beginning of this month (6,813.25 RMB/ton).
Supply side: The expected supply of epichlorohydrin in the April market is expected to decrease. Shandong Minji, Hebei Jiaao, and Jiangxi Suxing all had parking and maintenance plans; Hebei Jinbang, Zhejiang Haobang, Fujian Haobang, Binhua Group and other facilities were operating at low load. Expected production may decrease to below 100,000 tons.
Downstream demand side: The downstream epoxy resin market supply remained normal, with a capacity utilization rate of over 50%. But the terminal demand was weak, trading was not smooth, and the main focus was on purchasing for essential needs. As of April 1st, the mainstream price of liquid epoxy resin in East China was around 13,050-13,850 RMB/ton.
Market outlook
An analyst from SunSirs believes that although some production enterprises' equipment shutdowns and maintenance have led to a reduction in supply, downstream market demand was weak, traders' purchasing mentality was not positive, and market trading was not smooth. It is predicted that the epoxy chloropropane market may experience a narrow upward trend in the later stage, and more attention still needs to be paid to changes in market supply and demand.
